How I fell in love with wood
Born in the vibrant culture of Peru, I embarked on a new chapter in 2001 by moving to the United States. After mastering English and earning a degree in Mechanical Design, I spent over a decade as a dedicated employee in the business world. It was during this time, in the comfort of our first home, that I uncovered a deep-seated passion for woodworking. I remember vividly how the rough slabs of wood transformed under my hands into a stunning outdoor deck, a space where laughter and memories are shared with family and friends.
My journey with wood continued as I crafted a serene bamboo fence, a charming tiki bar, and cozy Adirondack chairs. Each project deepened my love for this art, and soon, neighbors and relatives were seeking my skills to create bespoke furniture for their homes. The joy of bringing their visions to life was immeasurable, and the dream of being compensated for my passion became a reality.
Embracing this newfound calling, I converted my garage into a woodshop sanctuary, where my hobby blossomed into a burgeoning business. My family—my supportive wife, our loyal dog, and I—relocated to the tranquil countryside of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. Here, in a more spacious workshop equipped with advanced machinery, I’ve been able to enhance the quality and efficiency of each piece, allowing me the freedom to innovate. My creations now include vertical chess sets, personalized shuffleboards, guitar-shaped end-tables with resin inlays, and an array of customized games and household items.
